Dan D. Farcaș was born on April 1, 1940 in Reșita. He graduated in mathematics and physics in Timișoara. Doctorate in mathematics at the University of Bucharest. He led and realized national level computer systems and mathematical models in biology and health. Principal researcher I in informatics, full member of the Academy of Medical Sciences since 1993. Temporary advisor to the World Health Organization (1997-2001) and expert of the European Commission for health information systems (2006-2010), expert advisor I in research policy at the Ministry of Research (1994-2000). Since 2013, he is a member of the Romanian Committee for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology of the Romanian Academy. Since 2011, he is the president of the Association for the Study of Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena (ASFAN). He published in the country and abroad more than 40 books on computer science, ufology, science fiction, memoirs, essays, etc. Since 2006, he is an honorary citizen of the municipality of Reșita.
